Crowns Restore Teeth to Natural Form and Function
Today’s crowns are usually made of all porcelain to blend with your other teeth and achieve a very natural appearance. On average, crowns last fifteen to twenty years.
Traditionally, the placement of a crown requires two appointments. During your first appointment your dentist will take molds (impressions) that will be used to create your custom crown. Your dentist will then fit you with a temporary crown that you will wear for about two weeks until your new crown is complete.
At your second appointment your temporary crown will be replaced by your new, permanent crown.
