Cosmetic Fillings

Cosmetic fillings are used to fill an area of the tooth that must be removed due to decay. Today’s cosmetic fillings are usually made of composite resin. They are strong, durable, and colored to look like your natural teeth, which results in a more attractive smile.

In addition to improved appearance, the advantages of cosmetic fillings over amalgam (“silver”) fillings are that your dentist won't need to drill as much of the tooth structure, and there is very little sensitivity to hot or cold items.

Cosmetic fillings last an average of six to twelve years or more, and the procedure usually requires just one visit to your dentist.
